There was a German who moved to England and founded a large orphanage there for the orphans of a cholera epidemic. His name was Georg Müller (1805-1898). He wrote down over 10,000 answers to prayer in his lifetime. His large orphanage was only supported by donations. His principle was to ask only God for the means. He never made an appeal. He received millions in today's money. It is exciting to read the book by Arthur T. Pierson: George Müller of Bristol.

Many people have experienced God through deliverance from addiction. One example is Adolf, who smoked 60-70 cigarettes a day and drank 10-14 bottles of beer. Everything he tried was in vain. He was set free through prayer. The whole report can be found under „Victory over tobacco and alcohol“.

There are people whose devotion to Christ brings about valuable changes in the short term. For many it takes longer.

I would like to tell you about Prof Josh McDowell. As a young man, he wanted to refute the resurrection of Jesus and Christianity intellectually. His research showed the opposite. He wrote the book „The Fact of the Resurrection - Do the Historical Facts Confirm the Resurrection of Jesus Christ?” (Memra-Verlag). He had friends who were Christians and happy people. After a time of great struggle, he came to the point where he unreservedly entrusted his life to Jesus. He prayed the following prayer at that time to gain a relationship with the resurrected living Christ:

Nothing happened immediately after the prayer. Within 6 months to 1 ½ years he lost his restlessness, one day he realised that his irascibility had left him and his hatred. - After the Second World War, he spent 27 years preaching Jesus Christ to 3½ million students and academics in 52 countries at 500 universities. In a public debate with the head of a university's history department, he remarked that Christ had changed his life. The other professor said: „You're not telling us that God really changed their lives in the 20th century? In what way?“ After Prof McDowell had spent 45 minutes describing the changes in his life, he said: „Okay, that's enough!“

We too can experience a positive change through Christ.

The phenomenon is that man has no foreknowledge. In the Bible, however, hundreds of precise predictions are made centuries in advance, which have also come true.
