The telephone counselling service is open to everyone - regardless of religious affiliation. The key to a conversation in faith & life counselling is the desire to talk and not your affiliation to a particular denomination.

Our counsellors and pastoral workers provide advice on a neutral level and deliberately refrain from judging people or situations. We encourage and strengthen the personal responsibility of those seeking help, point out possible courses of action and help them to discover new perspectives for their lives based on healthy and Christian values. All employees are guided in their work by God's positive devotion to all people.

The God-given dignity of human beings is inviolable, regardless of their gender, origin and skin colour, age, social or economic status and religion. This appreciation of human beings is an essential part of our diaconal action in Christian pastoral care: helping one another, uplifting others.

More than 80 men and women with experience in pastoral care and counselling work on a voluntary basis in the Gotterfahren faith & life support team. They are pastors, counsellors, emergency counsellors, psychologists, theologians, educationalists, social education workers, lifestyle counsellors, family counsellors, deacons and people of faith with a wide range of life and professional skills.

The faith & life counsellors are experienced Christians whose guiding principle in life is the Bible. They belong to the worldwide Seventh-day Adventist Church. They are mainly trained in theology, counselling or psychology. All employees undergo a qualified and comprehensive training programme. They are supported by supervisors.

Gotterfahren.info regards its activities as a service for self-help. Gotterfahren faith & life support is not a substitute for psychotherapy or medical counselling. If necessary or in acute crises, we will refer you to other specific counselling services or specialist centres. The quality of counselling, data protection and absolute confidentiality are the important pillars of this service.

We only offer telephone counselling. The GottErfahren telephone counselling service is free of charge. The call is free of charge for you from landlines and mobile phones. We do not offer a call-back service.

There are no legal claims against us. Our service, which is recognised as a non-profit organisation, is funded by donations. However, donations are not a condition for taking advantage of our services and are not expected.

At peak times, all lines may be busy. In such a case, we ask you to try the counselling number again at a later time. We will of course endeavour to avoid bottlenecks as far as possible.
